Joyce Besch began teaching bassoon at Nebraska Wesleyan University in 2007. She currently holds the position of contrabassoon in Lincoln's Symphony Orchestra. While living in Toronto, Ontario, Joyce was an active free-lance bassoonist, playing with several area orchestras. She has studied bassoon with Laine Bryce, Yoshi Tominaga, Carole Mason-Smith, and Linda Harwell and has received degrees from the College of St. Catherine in St. Paul, Minnesota (B.A. Music Ed.) and from the Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University (M.M. Performance).

Chantry is performing and teaching primarily in the classical music context. Among the numerous groups with which she works are included Lincoln's Symphony, Third Chair Chamber Players, Lincoln Municipal Band, and Hastings Symphony.

Karen's mainline interest is classical music, and she is also a major local proponent of contemporary music. You can see her on stage with various groups including Lincoln Symphony, Omaha Symphony, Lincoln Municipal Band, and New Music Agency.
